1. Temperature >38°C or <36°C?

2. Heart Rate >90 bpm?

3. Respiratory Rate >20 breaths/min or PaCO2 <32 mmHg?

4. WBC count >12,000/mm³ or <4,000/mm³ or >10% bands?

5. Suspected or confirmed infection?

6. Evidence of organ dysfunction (e.g. hypotension, elevated lactate)?

7. Persistent hypotension requiring vasopressors despite fluids?

8. Serum lactate >2 mmol/L?
