Wells' Criteria for DVT

"Estimates the probability of deep vein thrombosis based on clinical findings.
Use in patients suspected of DVT to guide further testing and management."

Active cancer (treatment ongoing, within 6 months, or palliative)?

Paralysis, paresis, or recent plaster immobilization of the lower extremities?

Recently bedridden for more than 3 days or major surgery within 4 weeks?

Localized tenderness along the deep venous system?

Swelling of entire leg?

Calf swelling at least 3 cm larger than asymptomatic side?

Pitting edema confined to the symptomatic leg?

Collateral superficial veins (non-varicose)?

Previously documented DVT?

Alternative diagnosis at least as likely as DVT? (Subtract 2 points)
